T's Time Savers

This week, we’re looking at ways you can save time (and money) at the grocery store:
You can save time shopping for groceries several ways.
1.      Set up your shopping list by categories. Write out your grocery list according to the major aisles in your grocery store. This will make in-store grocery shopping go much faster because you won't have to backtrack and also help you stick to your shopping list.
2.      Have a master list. Keep a running grocery list on the fridge door at all times. Use a small magnetic dry-erase board or even just a piece of paper and a pen held on the fridge with magnets.  When something runs out or gets close to empty, add it to the list on the spot.
3.      Be flexible on brands in order to take advantage of specials or coupons on items you use frequently.  You can save time by stocking up on bargain items you need, plus it saves money over time as well. You might even find that you like a different brand of ketchup, coffee, cereal, etc. better than the one you’ve used for years out of sheer habit. You can’t beat saving time, saving money and adding a little variety in the process!
4.      In fact, do as much of your errands and shopping online as you can, including grocery shopping. For example, did you know that Amazon.com has Dry Grocery shopping (with free shipping over $25) Many other stores let you shop online and pick up the order simply by driving up to the front of the store and paying for the order as it’s is loaded in your car for you. You won’t even have to get out of the car. You'll save all that shopping time, and you won't be temped to buy things you don't need. It also allows you to find the best prices more easily.

Just a bit of preparation and planning, combined with the will to try some new things can really make a difference when faced with a stroll down the grocery aisles!
